Viral Hepatitis (A-E)


Viral hepatitis is liver inflammation due to a viral infection.

Transmission can occur through the intestines, either naturally via the mouth or through a wound/piercing.


Depends on the type of Hepatitis. Some cases have no symptoms. When symptoms occur, they can include yellow skin or eyes (jaundice), nausea, abdominal pain, fatigue and fever.


Can be treated by using various antiviral drugs depending on the type of hepatitis virus that one has.


Prevention includes: avoiding risky behaviors, such as sharing needles, having unprotected sex and drinking large amounts of alcohol.
